Inexpensive copper/iron-cocatalyzed, efficient, highly regioselective and stereoselective one-pot tandem conjugate addition-cyclization-hydrolysis-decarboxylation reactions have been developed, which provide efficient tandem reactions for C-C and C-O bond formation, and the novel synthetic methods of gamma-alkylidenebutyrolactones.
